TRD Engineering is pleased to announce the addition of the MPAC208 Acoustic Imaging Camera to our product portfolio. Designed for industrial environments, MPAC208 enables maintenance teams to quickly detect and locate ultrasonic sound sources such as gas leaks, mechanical faults, and partial discharge (PD) without interrupting operations.
At the core of the MPAC208 is a 208-channel MEMS microphone array, capable of detecting ultrasonic signals within a frequency range of 2 kHz to 100 kHz, allowing even very small leaks and subtle ultrasonic patterns to be identified.
Acoustic data is combined with a 13 MP optical camera and displayed on a large 8-inch capacitive touchscreen, providing clear real-time visualizations that make sound sources immediately visible.

MPAC208 offers three main operating modes:
• Gas Leak Mode – Estimates leak rate, cost impact, and distance to the source
• Partial Discharge Mode – Detects and classifies PD activity with PRPD analysis
• Mechanical Mode – Identifies bearing wear, valve leakage, cavitation, and vibration-related issues
With a detection range of up to 200 meters, MPAC208 is ideal for inspections in substations, switchgear systems, industrial plants, and overhead line environments.
The camera is designed for field use, featuring IP54 protection, a lightweight 1.4 kg design, and replaceable smart batteries providing up to 10 hours of operation.
When equipped with the optional thermal imaging module, the device enables combined acoustic and thermal visualization, allowing faster root-cause analysis by correlating sound anomalies with heat signatures.
