ATEX Explosion Proof Wireless Access Point (Wi-Fi) - Armadex Ex UAP-AC-PRO

.

Overview

Explosion proof wireless data transfer is here to stay. ATEX Wi-Fi infrastructure has become a necessity for collecting data for preventive maintenance, managing stock and tracking personnel movement in hazardous environments such as:

  • Food and beverage industry (alcohol fumes, sugar and herbal ingredients)
  • Warehouses storing and handling plant materials or chemicals
  • Oil and gas refineries
  • Offshore industry
  • Pharmaceutical and chemical industry

High performance in hazardous areas

Armadex supplies explosion proof ATEX Wi-Fi infrastructure for safe, high performing wireless networks in ATEX zones. The range consists of ATEX converted Ubiquiti UniFi access points, suitable for ATEX Zone 2 (gas explosive atmospheres) and ATEX Zone 22 (dust explosive atmospheres).

Armadex engineers modify current-generation Ubiquiti UniFi access points to be ATEX compliant, and therefore explosion proof. Other brands can be ATEX modified on request, so you can safely use your trusted access point in hazardous areas.

Why a certified access point matters

Standard networking hardware may not be installed in a classified zone: under fault conditions it can become a source of ignition. An ATEX certified access point lets you extend the same wireless coverage you rely on elsewhere into the hazardous area, without a separate network design and without compromising compliance.

Where the hazardous area is small or the access point can remain in a safe location, an ATEX antenna connected by coaxial cable is often the more economical route. Our ATEX antenna range covers that scenario.
